Harry Potter Cards

For comprehensive lists of Harry Potter trading cards, try Pojo.

Harry Potter trading cards are split into several different types, Lessons, Creatures, Spells, Items, Matches, Locations, Characters and Adventures.

Lessons are laid to give you spell power, needed to lay other cards.

Creatures are cards which remain in play until killed by another card. Every turn a creature is in play it deals damage to the opponent. Different creatures deal different damage and are harder or easier to kill.

Spells are one time effects, and are discarded when cast. Spell effect cover a wide range and include damage to opponent or creature, extra cards and defensive counter magic.

Items are similar to spells, but remain in play until removed by another card.

Matches are cards which allow either player to claim a reward. Only one match card may be in play at any one time, and the reward is gained and the card discarded when either player fulfils the requirements of the Match card.

Locations are cards which provide a single effect to all players. Only a single Location can be in play at any time, if another Location is played, the previous Location is discarded.

Characters provide an effect to the player who laid them. Only one card representing each character can be in play at any time. Only one Ron, one Harry, one Hermione etc. Playing a Character card requires two actions, rather than the standard one.

Adventures provide an effect, usually detrimental to an opponent. The Adventure card can be 'solved' by the opponent meeting certain conditions, upon which the opponent receives a reward and the card is discarded. Adventures require two actions to play rather than the standard one.
