Guitarist Jonny Greenwood is first and foremost known for his musical talents, and rightly so as part of the hugely successful band Radiohead. Yet he is set to appear in the next Harry Potter film alongside Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker and fellow Radiohead band member Phil Selway. According to reports the trio are set to have a cameo role as part of a musical group called the Wyrd Sisters, in the 4th instalment of the Harry Potter series. The 'wizard rock band' make their appearance in the Yule Ball scene of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Jonny Greenwood (born November 5, 1971) formed the band Radiohead with his brother Colin Greenwood and friends in Oxford during the late Eighties. Radiohead went on to gain major commercial and critical success during the 90's with a string of hit albums including The Bends (1995) and 1997's Ok Computer. Radiohead are one of a select number of British bands to have had simultaneous number 1 albums on both sides of the Atlantic.

Jonny Greenwood's extremely aggressive guitar playing has led him in the past to suffer from repetitive strain injury in his right arm. Advised by a doctor to wear an arm brace for a period of time, his brace has become a trademark of sorts. "I enjoy putting it on before I play ... It's like taping up your fingers before a boxing match."

In recent years, Jonny Greenwood has continued his progression as an artist in Radiohead and in 2003 he released his first solo album, Bodysong (2003), the soundtrack for the movie with the same title by filmmaker Simon Pummell. His brother Colin also featured on the album. Jonny was hired by the BBC as its composer in residence in May 2004. Jonny Greenwood will also be collaborating on a new project, performed by the London Synfonietta at the Ether Festival in March 2005. According to the site Barbican, Jonny will make a premiere in 23 April 2005, of his new work commissioned by BBC Radio 3, with music performed live by the BBC Concert Orchestra in London.
